Jumping with Jack Herer, if not in spirit...

Walking around Amsterdam is sort of like playing frogger. You have several things flying at you at all times, in all ways. First and foremost, you learn that there is a bike path and bikes have right away. At any corner you might have a bikepath 4 way and a car 4 way. Hop over the bike path street, then the 2 lanes for autos, and again another bike path.Get in the way and you wipeout tons of people. You need to watch out for bikes ON the sidewalk too, and these bikers pretty much don't follow any rules at all.
We headed down to a Green House that was close to us, though it turns out there is one closer. After a light lunch of pickled smoked mackerel we headed into this darkly lit bar. The owner here was an awesome guy, he gave us the recommendation for the lunch, but when we saw the menu at Green House I knew I needed no help. Mr Jack stared back at me, and for a reasonable 8 euro price. Interestingly enough its one of the cheapest ones on the menu as well. But as I think back to reading high times and seeing it win the cannabis cup over and over was quite a long time ago, and the pricier goods are all current winners and new strains.
We grabbed some Jack and headed into the place to chill out. Unfortunately there volcano was broken but we opted to roll anyways. Most Europeans like to roll bombers with tobacco and since last year you have to take these into a special room. If your wide open sans tobac you can, and are encouraged, to partake anywhere. We hopped onto a couch in the far back with pictures around it. Turns out the couch was were 50 cent chilled while here. Yo 50!
So I don't roll much and had to rip a huge paper in 2. The paper came from a drop one, pick one up box upfront. Kind of like where you would give a penny leave a penny in a convenience store. But instead it was for papers and filters. After some fumbling I had us setup US style and we sat back and met Mr Herer for the first time...
As we sat there, the first thing that hit me was as if Mr Herer personally came over and punched us in the face. This was within the first 2 minutes too! From there it was really intense how rocked we were. For some reason we bolted pretty quick and were back playing frogger in no time. Except this time frogger took almost all of our focus to not be road pizza. Especially to a 6'5" Danish grandma.
We made it probably 2 blocks and sat on a bench. As we sat, like it came, it was gone. Fast and intense thats for sure. I wish I could say some more about smoking in public, but it wasnt that big of a deal tbh. And then Jack took over, so there wasn't room to concentrate on anything else.
The greenhouse south I'll call it was definetly chill. But nothing like the grasshopper will be, or even the flagship downtown. Those for another evening...
